ABOUT

SCHIMA is a 501(c)(6) non-profit trade association serving nearly 1600 professionals working in HIM, health care administration, education and information technology specialties in the Southeastern United States.  

 

Our membership is currently limited to AHIMA members selecting SC as their component state association (CSA) and corporate members.  We do not offer a separate paid state-level-only individual membership at this time.  However, membership is NOT required to attend any SCHIMA educational event, and we welcome non-member attendance and feedback for all functions.

 

Our mission is to educate our membership, other health care professionals, and the community on health information requirements, to promote high standards of health record maintenance and technology, and to ensure the quality and confidentiality of health information. 

 

SCHIMA is the official AHIMA Component State Association for the state of South Carolina. ()
